In the fall and the winter most people are less likely to get enough vitamin D. This is because we spend less time outside in the sunlight.
I bet you didn’t know that high levels of vitamin D are linked to lower rates of cancer. We get most of our vitamin D from food and sunlight. Scientists aren’t quite sure yet how vitamin D fights cancer, but they think it has something to do with its affect on cellular life cycles. The benefits of vitamin D are magnified in people who have healthy lifestyle habits, like eating well and exercising regularly.
